Imagine Dragons - the band

One of my favorite bands (I do like my dragons):

Imagine Dragons

Demons

When the days are cold
And the cards all fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of gold
When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood’s run stale
I wanna hide the truth
I wanna shelter you
But with the beast inside
There’s nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
At the curtain’s call
It's the last of all
When the lights fade out
All the sinners crawl
So they dug your grave
And the masquerade
Will come calling out
At the mess you made
Don't wanna let you down
But I am hell bound
Though this is all for you
Don't wanna hide the truth
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go
Your eyes, they shine so bright
I wanna save that light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide
Don’t get too close
It’s dark inside
It’s where my demons hide
It’s where my demons hide

Radioactive

Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa, oh, oh
Whoa
I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
I raise my flags, don my clothes
It's a revolution, I suppose
We'll paint it red to fit right in
Whoa
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
All systems go, the sun hasn't died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside
I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

imagine dragons

dragons are real
i know
they inhabit
my mind and as we all know
perception is all

there is no difference
between
waking and dreaming
pinch me doesn’t work

ants crawling

tiny feet scratching
hair follicles

cardboard box
edges held tight
in fists
as the wind whips
past ears
falling
flipping
flying

so free

and boom

the ground like granite
keeps it real

The border around the dragon's space is made up of runic stones I created. If you are the first to EMAIL [vanessavkilmer at gmail dot com] me with the deciphered saying encrypted here, you will win the dragon egg pictured at the end of this post.

Each picture shows the sequence of the stones. Each picture is not neccessarily a seperate word.
The saying is in English. Each stone represents 1 letter. No more hints for now.

20130120 16:09 - BRIAN MILLER asks each is a seperate letter as well? no multiple pics for the same letter?
ANSWER ~ Each symbol is unique to a particular letter. The pictograms are a second way of writing of representing letters  for a different reason.

dragon design for part of the "Cornered" project (c) vanessa v kilmer 20130117

it’s not too much to ask for a patron of the arts
to cater to my every need and want;
perhaps the fates could grant my wish
and let me hit it big at the lottery;
i could become a drunken writer
and spend my minutes, hours, days,
pouring over this locution or that lexeme

A Poem A Day #3 - The Problem with Happiness

"Beryl's Castle"
Photograph by Vanessa V. Kilmer © April 3, 2009

For my dragon loving friends, this is Beryl. He lives on my front porch. He loves the sunshine. He told me he wants a castle like the one I painted on the saw. When we win the lottery.

A Poem A Day - Today's prompt: Take the phrase "The problem with (blank)" and replace the "(blank)" with a word or phrase. Make this the title of your poem and then write a poem to fit with or juxtapose against that title. For instance, you could have poems with the titles of "The problem with government," "The problem with advanced mathematics," or "The problem with bipolar penguins." You know the drill: have fun, be creative.

The Problem with Happiness

Feels
so
damn
good
endorphins
flowing
veins
pulsing
racing
thoughts
sunshine
bright
blue
verdant
wine
lush
body
oasis
only
lasts
as
long
as
an
orgasm.
