anywhere

I could live inside a nutshell
like Thumbelina floating
down the river to new
adventures

I would peek over the edge
blinking at the sunlight
reflecting off of iridescent
dragonfly wings

I should step off the edge
get my toes wet
take the plunge to new
adventures

dizzy

move too quickly from a position of rest
lightheaded
falling down
when really you should float up
like a balloon
hot air
cold cheeks
sweaty brow
dry mouth

just keep moving in any direction
circling
a straight line
2 forward 1 back is progress
level headed
air headed
turning around
feet on the ground

on the move in time space
point
wave
rippling in black holes
swallowed up
pushed down
joining in
running out

masonry

grains of sand pumice my soles
as the sound of waves rock
roll against the boulders damming
my heart

the pressure of my lungs
crystallize them into faceted gems
tearing, blocking, constricting
my throat

* Children in the throes of strong emotions are told to "use their words" instead of striking out physically. I usually shut down.

seeds

the most beautiful seeds come from
weeds that blow upon the wind
dancing like ballerinas
dressed in white tutus
and delicate slippers
until changing in the next movement
over the bright grass with bursts of yellow
butter so creamy that it dribbles down
my childhood chin dazzling the sun twinkling
in my blue eyes
eyes as blue as the skies
of summers that live in perfect memory

dVerse ~ Poets Pub: Rondelet

Here are a couple I wrote. The first is more traditional.

awash

waves crash and burn
along the coast of heart’s thin walls
waves crash and burn
so much to learn
from sorrow, ache, more danger calls
to bring us out of closed off halls
waves crash and burn

ere

she heard an air
of perpetual emotion
she heard an heir
so bold and fair
express his inner devotion
but couldn’t abide the notion
she heard an err

DADAism at dVerse ~ Poets Pub

Extra Summer Memory

Airports & car parks, new faces,

are these the features of insurance from talk?

The top dilemma, charge verbal dodgers: Rock’n’Roll is

involved & expand s together with Good-time vegetables

[are mushrooms a vegetable?]

to create easy Summer time gravity her own way @ home,

ever! free of the memory of un sound experience,

silk travelers that risk advantages to reach their goal?

Switch... Help the paper-white nuts, re covered,

imagine and save the puzzle of the extra parfaits.

The only magazine I had at home that I could bring myself to cut up was an AARP magazine. I made a few changes to the process:

I used the first noun of the first three articles in the table of contents as my title in the order printed. They are also three of my words.

Then, I chose one boldfaced word on each right side page to the end of the magazine. (As you see, some of the words are phrases just because I wanted them that way.) That gave me 40 words. These I randomly divided into groups. And of course, the little bits of magazine words made me think of an old-fashioned ransom note.
