A Poem a Day #14 Love & Not Love

Today is Tuesday, which means two prompts.

First prompt: Write a love poem.

I'm sorry
You first
Let's share
Remember when...
Let's try again
This is for you
I thought you
might like it
Can I get you
You rest
You deserve it
You make me
You make me
You are the
heart of me.

Second prompt: Write an anti-love poem.

Your Fault

You are ugly
You are stupid
You are worthless
You made me do it
You are useless
You are dumb
You are fat

A Poem a Day at Poetic Asides
And be sure to treat yourself to this video by clicking on the word DREAM. I guarantee you will not regret it and this woman's dream deserves to come true. She will make you cry but in the best way possible.

  1. Good poems and I love the way they are arranged like a boomerang!

  2. I like the lists. Reminds me of when I T. A.ed Daily Themes at Yale. A student did a list of lies, ending with "The check is in the mail," and "I'll call you." It was effective.

  3. Now that is poetry.
That lady was something else as well.

  4. WHOA! Very sweet... followed by painfully honest! That's got some emotion Nessa!

  5. I love finding poetry around blogs... Thanks!
And that Christensen quote is GREAT.

  6. I have lived both of those poems. Nicely told, Nessa.

  7. It feels like Valentine's Day all over again.

  8. I have to agree with Quilly, I have lived both and have probably passed on both...powe
rful to see them in words, the good and the ugly. Thank you for the video!
    Blessings and smiles

  9. wow, that's art. love the poems!

    great day nessa!

  10. Maggie: Love or lack there of, does tend to knock you out.

Weirsdo: See, I knew I was smart to use lists.

Dr. John: The woman was amazing.

Melli: Love is a kick in the head.

    Skywind: For eons.

    Mary-Laure: One of my favorites.

Quilly: I think we all have in one form or another.

    Noe Noe: Thanks.

    Doug: Should I call Hallmark?

Carolyn: One of those things that is easy to contrast.

Iriz: She made me cry too.

  11. You have much talent my friend!
    Your poetry certainly has depth.

  12. Poems that everyone can identify strongly with, Nessa.

  13. Carletta: Thank-you.

David: Luckily for the first, unfortunately for the second.

  14. great poems...congrats on Post of the Day!

You forgot I'm sorry I won't do it again.

That fits right in as well.

I am going into the Dream Video now.
To bad there has to be such things going on in the world.
Every person is individual and special.

  16. This Dream is a really nice story.
I hope it comes true for her.:)

  17. A Lady's Life: Yeah, the I won't do it again, is classic.
