Tattoo

I swore I would never get a tattoo. I lied...again. Never says never. A tattoo just seemed like something I really needed for my fiftieth birthday. I drew the design. I knew what I wanted. It had to be a butterfly, of course.
I went to Luck of the Draw in Millville, NJ, where my SIL got all of his tattoos. He has many. Here are the pictures of mine.

It is on the inside of my left arm near the crook of the elbow.

My daughter received her first tattoo, also. Her's is my logo and her birth date as my copyright because she is my greatest creation.

  2. Wow! A person with such talent - not only do you write but you are an artist. I have contemplated getting a tattoo many times, but haven't found the right raven or jay, and I certainly can not draw one. Lovely, and I hope your big 50 birthday was wonderful. I just had my 52nd.

  3. It should come in handy to ID you if you get chopped up with a chain saw.

  4. Finally! Thank you. And your daughter's tattoo is perfect. There is nothing more precious you could have given the world -- except perhaps another child.

  5. Oh! And your tattoo is beautiful. I am not at all surprised it is a butterfly. I love that it is green.

  6. That's a beautiful design. I've often thought of a tattoo, but always chickened out (I heal slowly now I'm - er - mature!) My eldest son and both my daughters have tattoos.

  7. I'm getting Tom and Icy tatooed on my forehead to remind people things can always get worse.

  8. It's great that you drew the design yourself. It makes it that much more special. It is very pretty.
My son has wanted to get tattoos for some time now, but I've been making him hold off until he's 21. He is 18 now, and he also wants a nose ring.
    Lord, help me!!
    :-)
Thanks for sharing photos of your terrific tattoo to commemorate your 50th b-day.

  10. Brooke: I went through many designs.

Tsduff: Happy Birthday to you! I will keep my eye out for a design for you so you can get one too.

Tom: Leave it to you to think of the practical aspects.

Quilly: My daughter’s tattoo was her idea. Nice, huh?

Quilly: Green is my favorite color.

Dragonstar: It took me a while to decide because it is permanent but I am glad I got it.

Doug: Ah, a forehead billboard. Tom will love the attention.

Jamie: My daughter began asking for a belly button ring at 16. I made her wait until she was 18. I figured if she still wanted one after 2 years she must really want it. She was 22 when she got her tattoo. She had asked for it for almost 5 years.

Swampy: It only hurt for a mo’, sort of like childbirth.

  12. John: I can certainly see why people get more and more. There's something very addicting about the process.

  16. Madame Wilde: He did. One of the reasons it took me so long to decide was that I was looking at other peoples' tattoos for quality.
