Drawing When I'm Bored

I wanted a picture to help me keep my hero, Fendor, from my evolving story Divine Death clear in my mind. I could not find a magazine clipping or picture on-line that fit the person I had in mind.

I decided to draw him.

I began a sketch Sunday, but abandoned it after showing it to my daughter. She took one look at what I now call
Pseudo-Fendor and told me he looks just like Firenze from the Harry Potter movies. Back to the drawing board for me, but at least you get a laugh.

  1. He looks like Ron Perelman. He's Perelman-esque.

  3. He looks sorta like Fabio.

Aren't kids the best? Three year old told me today my butt is big.

  4. That's a great picture...of Fabio (I'm with cindra on that one).

I'm a visual person too, and it helps to "see" the character you're writing about.

  5. Diesel: esque is better than pseudo; snazzy.

Pauline: Pictures help me remember certain things, like that Fendor is left-handed.

Cindra: And now Fabio is too old to grace the cover; D Kids are our harshest critics and usually without malice.

Phoenix: I think Fabio may be a worse visual than Firenze. Certain key aspects are easier to remember when I have a strong picture.

  6. I like it. It is certainly better than the stick figures I can produce.

  7. Looks like you pretty good to me... but, I have trouble drawing a straight line.

  8. I can see a hero in there though, lol
But yeah, I can see what she is saying.
As far as Cindra, ya know, there is the perspective thing, the little ones are so CLOSE, it just looks larger to them.
A couple years ago I got this one,
"Mom, I just love hugging you because your so squishy."

  9. Mr. Fab: But he can't compare to your Sculpey Figures.

Mizmell: I have trouble walking a straight line. I just tripped in my flip flops a minute ago.

Logo: That's what my husband says to me.

  10. Hee hee ... little kids could be the best critics. They mean no harm, but they tell it like it is! :)

  11. Daughter may be right, he does, a little - but I'm still amazed you can draw, as well as write! You got all the talent. When I read your story, I see a sort of dark Charlston Heston type.

  12. Dan: They are not ashamed of their honesty.

Jackie: Thank you for reading my story. I will be adding to it soon.

  13. If I were to draw me a man he would have muscles like this...the eyes scare me though. You are certainly multi talented.

  14. It's a good drawing. Really. But the hanging belt looks like...well ya know, it looks a bit like a soft dick. Just sayin'. BIG, soft dick. And I mean that in the best possible way of course.

  15. Mo'a: Yes, from the neck up, I'm not happy with him; D

TLP: I guess from the waist down, now, too" )

  16. I never laughed, honest, well maybe just a small snigger. Actually, my first thoughts were, how talented can one woman be, writing and drawing!

  18. Bazza: You are sweet, but it is ok to laugh.

  19. You do draw amazingly well. I am with TLP as I wondered about how did he knot his, well you know - dick?

  20. He's your hero - he can look however you want him to look! (Mine would be mousy with wire rim glasses and a quiet thoughtful expression.)

  21. G: I guess I can't help with the innuendo even in my drawings. I have a dirty mind...our you two do; D

Purple: I like my men in all shapes and sizes. Can I have more than one?
