So Long...

It feels like I've been away forever. I heard others say that once you get away, it's hard to come back. I didn't believe them at the time, but I have to say they were right. I used to crave being on here to the exclusion of other things. Now, if I'm having trouble getting on line, I often just don't bother. I'll go do something else. So, things are settling down. I've chalked January up as a "No Computer" month. I've rested, I've recovered, my head is no longer full of yucky stuff, so maybe I'll get back into a routine.

I've decided not to tell any more made up stories about my fictional past. I fear I have shattered the careful image I created. Go back to thinking I'm a sweet innocent lady.

  1. Hey, Nessa, I know what you mean. When I started here, it was all so new and exciting. I go back and forth...I'll begin to think that this just takes up way to much of my time, and I'll go away for awhile. Then I'll begin wondering what people on here are doing - and I'll come back. Of course, then it takes me forever to catch up on what all has been written!

Hope life is leveling out a little for you, and your cold is gone now.

    P.S. I don't think I ever thought you were a sweet innocent lady. :-)

  5. Jackie: I think a more balanced use of the medium is in order. I doubt if I can do it, but we'll give it a shot. And I'm hurt I didn't fool you; D

Jay: Thanks. How are you doing on your break? Is it over? I must go check.

Bert: We are writers of fiction, right? I could make up stories about you. I could be your campaign press.

Tina: Crazy lady stories are fun. They were fun at the time, too.

  7. Innocent?
What is this innocent of which you speak?
Taking breaks is a good thing, we all need to from time to time. We do miss you though, in a non pressuring, not stalkerish, completely friendly and well intentioned way.
    Nice to see ya again!
    mwah!

  8. Crystal: I may have reached my wild peak, although that could be the result of child rearing. Now that my child is reared, I may kick up my heels again, only not so recklessly.

Jenn: Good. At least there is one of you.

Logo: Thanks. I like you, too.

  10. Sweet and innocent? Nah, that's no fun. Made up or not, I'll always think of you hitting the bread truck. ;)

  11. Look, you can take long breaks for months at a time just as long as you crack open a story about women going around braless in all their natural low cut bounty now and then. That's all I'm askin' ya, Nessa. Hey, just show up when you feel like it. We love seeing you when you do!

  12. We have all been there and done that.
It just becomes over-whelming. So many new people, blogs you have to visit...all of the sudden what started as an enjoyment and meeting new people turns into work, obligation and desperately trying to come up with soemthing worthwile. And we have enough of that in the three-dimensional world :)

The end of last year I wnet through those exact motions. I am back now, but with less anxiety about living up to expectations :)

  13. I've decided I'm going to have to blog during the work day while I'm eating lunch or some other break... it's the only way I'll have time. haha

You've always been "sweet" in my book!

  15. No more fake stories about about your past? What the hell is the point in blogging then? I would be screwed.

  16. A sordid past doesn't make you any less sweet Nessa! Balance is always good.

  19. Come on, who can get enough of hard living pill popping tales? Don't do that to us!

  20. And as to taking a break, I've been a little in and out of the loop myself or not casting such a far net in the waters perhaps. Sometimes life gets way too much and too busy and active and I just can't do it. So I don't. Then when I can catch up, I do. But I'm glad to see you up and around.

  21. Fear not! We don't judge. Stories after all can be re-written. Our historians have been doing that since the invention of the pen. Keep writing you are keeping us awake. lol I have been off the computer myself with extra work hours. Life can be demanding. Write when it is fun for you!
